Mare & Foal Sanctuary

The Mare & Foal Sanctuary approached us to help deploy the launch of their new brand across the organisation’s documentation, marketing literature and vehicle livery. Our job was to further develop the brand style and bring it to life as they applied it and used it.

Progressing the brand guidelines

We introduced the use of softer shapes in their brand guidelines to portray the organic nature of the organisation. We wanted to imply movement and an aliveness in the designs.

Vehicle livery design

We wanted to ensure the vehicles really stood out from the crowd while remaining sensitive to the charity’s purpose. In order to get the charity’s message across quickly and simply we used modern colours and simple statements in hand drawn speech bubbles on the sides of the vehicle. The eye catching illustrated horses create movement leading to the back doors where people can easily see the information needed to engage with and support the charity.

In summer 2024, the charity ran a campaign to raise funds for a much needed horsebox. Due to the kindness of their supporters, they smashed their target and, after they purchased the horse box, we wre delighted that they asked us to design its new livery. The design needed to fit around the different panels, windows and doors on the horse box and work on the existing colour of the horse box. We used the same illustrated horses and speech bubble graphic ideas from the original vans so that the horse box is in keeping with the other vehicles in the fleet.

It’s great seeing the vans out and about in the area, carrying out the charity’s dedicated work.
